An online workshop produced by The New England Adolescent Research Institute Inc. (NEARI) and sponsored by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC). Whether you are new to the field or an experienced professional, this course provides the basics for how to encourage friends and family to deter and possibly prevent sexual violence.

In this course, you will:

  1. Understand the role of engaged bystanders in preventing sexual violence
  2. Use various tools that will help you to teach others about bystander intervention
  3. Identify additional intervention opportunities to prevent sexual violence

Joan is the director of educational initiatives at the New England Adolescent Research Institute, Inc. (NEARI) in Holyoke, MA. For nearly 15 years, she has worked in the field of child sexual abuse prevention.
